1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 867 1-2 WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is proud to recognize 1-3 Lindsey Burton of Duncanville, Texas, on achieving the Girl Scout 1-4 Gold Award; this fine young woman was presented the coveted award 1-5 on June 5, 1997, in Dallas, Texas, by the Tejas Girl Scout Council; 1-6 and 1-7 WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished award, the highest 1-8 honor bestowed on girls in the Girl Scout program; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Girl Scout oath and 1-10 promise, Lindsey advanced through the ranks of Girl Scouting; and 1-11 WHEREAS, This personable young lady has displayed leadership 1-12 through planning, developing, and conducting a service project; 1-13 she is truly a shining example to other Girl Scouts and citizens 1-14 of her community; and 1-15 WHEREAS, In receiving the Gold Award, Lindsey Burton brings 1-16 great honor to herself, her family, her council, her community, 1-17 and her state; now, therefore, be it 1-18 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-19 75th Legislature, hereby commend Lindsey Burton on receiving 1-20 this prestigious honor and congratulate her on her outstanding 1-21 achievement; and, be it further 1-22 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 1-23 Lindsey as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-1 Nelson 2-2 ______________________________________ 2-3 President of the Senate 2-4 I hereby certify that the above 2-5 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-6 on May 26, 1997. 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 Secretary of the Senate 2-9 ______________________________________ 2-10 Member, Texas Senate
