1-1 1 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 882 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to extend 1-4 congratulations to Ada Williams who was recently named Director of 1-5 the Year by the Credit Union Executive Society; and 1-6 WHEREAS, The Dallas native has been a member of the Dallas 1-7 Teachers Credit Union's Board of Directors since 1981 and is 1-8 presently serving as its chairman; she is also a member of its 1-9 executive committee; and 1-10 WHEREAS, A talented and capable leader, Ada Williams has been 1-11 recognized nationally and throughout the credit union industry for 1-12 her outstanding accomplishments; and 1-13 WHEREAS, The Professional Registered Parliamentarian has 1-14 volunteered her services as parliamentarian and consultant to 1-15 credit unions nationwide and has conducted various workshops on 1-16 parliamentary law; she is a popular featured speaker at numerous 1-17 Credit Union League and Association meetings; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams is a Governmental and Internal 1-19 Relations Specialist for the Dallas public schools and was 1-20 elected parliamentarian of its board of trustees; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Appointed by the Governor of Texas to serve on 1-22 the Texas Credit Union Commission from May, 1983, to March, 1989, 1-23 Ada Williams has provided assistance and testimony on behalf of the 2-1 Texas Credit Union League to the Texas Legislature; and 2-2 WHEREAS, Highly qualified to represent her profession, 2-3 Mrs. Williams earned a bachelor of arts degree from Huston-Tillotson 2-4 College and a master of arts degree from North Texas State University; 2-5 she is certified in both counseling and sensitivity training; and 2-6 WHEREAS, Through her dedication and exemplary contributions, 2-7 Ada Williams has received recognition and respect from those in 2-8 her field; now, therefore, be it 2-9 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-10 75th Legislature, hereby recognize Ada Williams for being 2-11 named 1996 Director of the Year and extend best wishes to her 2-12 for continued success in the years ahead; and, be it further 2-13 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her 2-14 as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate. 2-15 West 2-16 ______________________________________ 2-17 President of the Senate 2-18 I hereby certify that the above 2-19 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-20 on May 27, 1997. 2-21 ______________________________________ 2-22 Secretary of the Senate 2-23 ______________________________________ 2-24 Member, Texas Senate
