1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 888

        1-2           WHEREAS, Parnell and Elouise Sain placed great faith and

        1-3     trust in the future when they married on May 17, 1947, at Union

        1-4     Bower in Irving, Texas, and they have been amply rewarded as they

        1-5     recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and

        1-6           WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the years

        1-7     of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Sain have steadfastly embraced

        1-8     traditional family and moral values; and

        1-9           WHEREAS, The dedicated couple worked and provided well for

       1-10     their family; Parnell retired from Bell Helicopter and Elouise

       1-11     from Texas Instruments in 1989; and

       1-12           WHEREAS, Having lived 41 wonderful years in Irving, Texas,

       1-13     they changed hometowns in September, 1985, to Scurry, Texas; and

       1-14           WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their

       1-15     love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and

       1-16     sorrows of everyday living; and

       1-17           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Sain have been blessed with a wonderful

       1-18     family; their children, William Sain of Scurry and Shirley Day of

       1-19     Litton Springs, Texas, and their seven grandchildren and one

       1-20     great-grandchild have been a source of much pride and joy; and

       1-21           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Sain will celebrate their happiness

       1-22     with their family and friends at a party in Scurry and plan to

       1-23     take a golden wedding anniversary trip at a later date; and

        2-1           WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Sain is

        2-2     truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it

        2-3           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

        2-4     75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to

        2-5     Mr. and Mrs. Parnell Sain on their golden wedding anniversary;

        2-6     and, be it further

        2-7           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

        2-8     this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in

        2-9     their lives.
