 1-5                               Emily Kay Murph

 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the

 1-7     citizens of Dallas and Corpus Christi in mourning the tragic

 1-8     loss of Emily Kay Murph, who died May 18, 1997, at the age of

 1-9     40; and

1-10           WHEREAS, Born January 20, 1957, in Corpus Christi,

1-11     Emily Kay Murph graduated from Rockport-Fulton High School in

1-12     1975; she earned a bachelor's degree in physical therapy from

1-13     The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio

1-14     and a master's degree in physical therapy from Texas Woman's

1-15     University; and

1-16           WHEREAS, Emily Murph was dedicated to her work as a

1-17     physical therapist at Methodist Hospital in Dallas; she was

1-18     known for her proficiency and for her deep concern for her

1-19     patients; and

1-20           WHEREAS, An exemplary lady, Emily Murph was respected

1-21     in the community for her many accomplishments; and

1-22           WHEREAS, She was an outdoors enthusiast who loved the

1-23     beach, and she was a devout Christian and a member of Highland

 2-1     Park Baptist Church in Dallas; and

 2-2           WHEREAS, A woman of integrity, strength, and generosity,

 2-3     she gave unselfishly of her time to others, and her wisdom, warmth,

 2-4     and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and

 2-5           WHEREAS, Emily Murph was a devoted daughter, sister,

 2-6     and aunt, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured

 2-7     forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it

 2-8           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

 2-9     75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the

2-10     bereaved family of Emily Kay Murph:  her mother,

2-11     Sister Mary Louise Mount; her twin sister, Melanie Harrison;

2-12     her brothers, Howard Murph and Larry Murph; and her nieces

2-13     and nephews; and, be it further

2-14           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

2-15     the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy

2-16     from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this

2-17     day, it do so in memory of Emily Kay Murph.
