1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 922 1-2 WHEREAS, For more than 16 years, John Brett has worked to help 1-3 prevent crime as a member of the Greater Dallas Crime Commission, 1-4 and his longtime service is indeed deserving of special legislative 1-5 recognition; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Mr. Brett currently serves as chairman of the board 1-7 of directors for this organization and during his tenure he has 1-8 initiated many unique and effective innovations in the city's fight 1-9 against criminal activity; and 1-10 WHEREAS, In an effort to unify the actions of the community, 1-11 this dedicated individual has established several productive 1-12 alliances and partnerships with Dallas-area law enforcement 1-13 agencies; he was also instrumental in the formation of the law 1-14 enforcement liaison committee, a team of local volunteers that 1-15 raises funds to assist in the training of law enforcement personnel; 1-16 and 1-17 WHEREAS, In addition to his work in the Greater Dallas area, 1-18 Mr. Brett has been active in the organization of relief efforts 1-19 for the families of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing victims; his 1-20 caring and commitment have inspired countless individuals to come 1-21 to the assistance of those in need of a helping hand, and his 1-22 humanitarian deeds have earned him the respect and admiration of 1-23 friends and colleagues; now, therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-2 75th Legislature, hereby honor John Brett for his many years of 2-3 service to the Greater Dallas Crime Commission and extend to him 2-4 sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness in the years 2-5 to come; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared 2-7 for Mr. Brett as an expression of high regard by the Texas Senate. 2-8 Carona 2-9 ______________________________________ 2-10 President of the Senate 2-11 I hereby certify that the above 2-12 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-13 on May 29, 1997. 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Secretary of the Senate 2-16 ______________________________________ 2-17 Member, Texas Senate
