1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 925

        1-2           WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is a splendid occasion

        1-3     and calls for much celebration; and

        1-4           WHEREAS, Ann and Wayne Perkins of Mesquite were married on

        1-5     May 10, 1947, in Celina, Texas, and over the years the beloved

        1-6     couple has formed an ideal relationship based on love, mutual

        1-7     respect, and understanding; and

        1-8           WHEREAS, Their lives are filled with beautiful memories of

        1-9     their life together that are cherished more dearly with each

       1-10     passing year; and

       1-11           WHEREAS, The strengthening ties of home, family, friends,

       1-12     and children have been woven into a blend of quiet contentment

       1-13     springing from a long and fruitful life shared; and

       1-14           WHEREAS, Residents of Mesquite since 1953,

       1-15     Mr. and Mrs. Perkins have been active community members; Wayne

       1-16     is retired from G.E. Supply and Maverick Elect; Ann has devoted

       1-17     her time and energies to providing a loving home for their

       1-18     children; and

       1-19           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Perkins were honored at a reception

       1-20     hosted by their children at the Lakeside Activity Center in

       1-21     Mesquite on April 26, 1997; and

       1-22           WHEREAS, They have been blessed with a wonderful family;

       1-23     their beloved children, Mike and Pamela, Bobby and Cheryl, and

        2-1     Ricky and Karen, and their six grandchildren and great-grandchild

        2-2     have been the source of much pride and joy; and

        2-3           WHEREAS, Ann and Wayne have found companionship and happiness

        2-4     together, and their marriage is a shining example to all who are

        2-5     fortunate to know them; now, therefore, be it

        2-6           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

        2-7     75th Legislature, hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Perkins

        2-8     on their golden wedding anniversary with best wishes for continued

        2-9     health and happiness; and, be it further

       2-10           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the

       2-11     distinguished couple as a memento of this important milestone in

       2-12     their lives.
