1-1 1 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 933 1-3 WHEREAS, It is a pleasure for the Texas Senate to 1-4 recognize Eduardo Andres Lucio III on the momentous occasion of 1-5 his graduation from James Pace High School on June 3, 1997; and 1-6 WHEREAS, A member of the gifted and talented program, 1-7 Eduardo will graduate sixth in a class of 550; and 1-8 WHEREAS, This talented young man has won honors repeatedly 1-9 in the academic as well as the athletic areas of his education; 1-10 he has been the Varsity Golf Captain from 1993 through 1996, a 1-11 member of the National Honor Society, and a President's Class 1-12 Member; and 1-13 WHEREAS, The government class president in 1996, he was a 1-14 student class representative, a civic youth representative, and 1-15 a member of the student council throughout his high school career; 1-16 and 1-17 WHEREAS, Intelligent and hardworking, Eddie Lucio has earned 1-18 innumerable awards and honors; he has been in the top five percent 1-19 of his class at Pace High School since 1993, in Who's Who Among 1-20 American High School Students for four years, on the United States 1-21 Honor Roll, and a United States Achievement Winner; and 1-22 WHEREAS, An avid and excellent golfer, he was on the All 1-23 State Texas Christian Interscholastic League Golf Team in 1993 and 2-1 won sixth place in the All State Texas Christian Interscholastic 2-2 League play in 1994; and 2-3 WHEREAS, During the summer of 1995, Eddie won the Treasure 2-4 Hills and River Bend Country Club tournaments, and in May, 1997, 2-5 he was voted Most Valuable Player in 32-5A district golf; and 2-6 WHEREAS, This May, Eddie signed a letter of intent to attend 2-7 Texas Tech University on a partial golf and partial academic 2-8 scholarship; and 2-9 WHEREAS, Eddie has worked in his father's campaigns since 2-10 1985 as the student-coordinator and office assistant during the 2-11 successful election and reelection campaigns; and 2-12 WHEREAS, An active participant in his community, he has been 2-13 a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Prevention Program 2-14 Volunteer and has coordinated prevention efforts at the elementary 2-15 level; and 2-16 WHEREAS, Dedicated to the welfare of young children, Eddie 2-17 has created and promoted Christian education for elementary 2-18 children at Saint Mary's Mother of the Church since August, 1995; 2-19 and 2-20 WHEREAS, The achievements of Eddie Lucio III have proved 2-21 quite impressive, and the Texas Senate wishes to honor him; now, 2-22 therefore, be it 2-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-24 75th Legislature, hereby congratulate Eduardo Andres Lucio III 2-25 on his graduation and wish him well in all his future endeavors; 3-1 and, be it further 3-2 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him 3-3 as an expression of the highest esteem of the Texas Senate. 3-4 Brown 3-5 Duncan 3-6 ______________________________________ 3-7 President of the Senate 3-8 I hereby certify that the above 3-9 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 3-10 on May 29, 1997. 3-11 ______________________________________ 3-12 Secretary of the Senate 3-13 ______________________________________ 3-14 Member, Texas Senate 3-15 ______________________________________ 3-16 Member, Texas Senate
