1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 961
1-2 WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is proud to recognize Jill Clay
1-3 of Irving, Texas, on achieving the Girl Scout Gold Award; this fine
1-4 young woman was one of 33 girls of the Tejas Girl Scout Council
1-5 presented the coveted award at ceremonies in Dallas on June 5, 1997;
1-6 and
1-7 WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished award, the highest
1-8 honor bestowed on girls in the Girl Scout program; and
1-9 WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Girl Scout oath and
1-10 promise, Jill advanced through the ranks of Girl Scouting; and
1-11 WHEREAS, This personable young lady has displayed leadership
1-12 through planning, developing, and conducting a service project;
1-13 she is truly a shining example to other Girl Scouts and citizens
1-14 of her community; and
1-15 WHEREAS, In receiving the Gold Award, Jill brings great honor
1-16 to herself, her family, her council, her community, and her state;
1-17 now, therefore, be it
1-18 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-19 75th Legislature, hereby commend Jill Clay on receiving this
1-20 prestigious honor and congratulate her on her outstanding
1-21 achievement; and, be it further
1-22 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
1-23 Jill as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
