1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 962 1-2 WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is proud to recognize 1-3 Michelle M. DeNamur of Plano, Texas, on achieving the Girl Scout 1-4 Gold Award; this fine young woman was one of 33 girls of the Tejas 1-5 Girl Scout Council presented the coveted award at ceremonies in 1-6 Dallas on June 5, 1997; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished award, the highest 1-8 honor bestowed on girls in the Girl Scout program; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Girl Scout oath and 1-10 promise, Michelle advanced through the ranks of Girl Scouting; and 1-11 WHEREAS, This personable young lady has displayed leadership 1-12 through planning, developing, and conducting a service project; she 1-13 is truly a shining example to other Girl Scouts and citizens of her 1-14 community; and 1-15 WHEREAS, In receiving the Gold Award, Michelle brings great 1-16 honor to herself, her family, her council, her community, and her 1-17 state; now, therefore, be it 1-18 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-19 75th Legislature, hereby commend Michelle DeNamur on receiving 1-20 this prestigious honor and congratulate her on her outstanding 1-21 achievement; and, be it further 1-22 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 1-23 Michelle as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-1 Shapiro 2-2 ______________________________________ 2-3 President of the Senate 2-4 I hereby certify that the above 2-5 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-6 on May 31, 1997. 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 Secretary of the Senate 2-9 ______________________________________ 2-10 Member, Texas Senate
