1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 998

        1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to

        1-3     recognize Jacklynn Eason for her important contributions to the

        1-4     citizens of Brazoria County; and

        1-5           WHEREAS, For the past 46 years, Jackie Eason has worked for

        1-6     the Brazoria County Library System, and she has earned the respect

        1-7     and friendship of countless individuals for her exceptional

        1-8     dedication; and

        1-9           WHEREAS, On June 27, 1997, Jackie will be honored by her

       1-10     colleagues and friends for her loyal service at a reception at the

       1-11     Angleton Library; and

       1-12           WHEREAS, Her retirement as bookmobile librarian marks the

       1-13     end of a notable career that began in 1951; she started working for

       1-14     Brazoria County as an hourly employee in June of that year, but a

       1-15     month later she was promoted to supervisor of the bookmobile and

       1-16     continued in that position until her retirement; and

       1-17           WHEREAS, She provided a beneficial service to all those who

       1-18     relied on the bookmobile to supply educational, recreational, and

       1-19     informative reading materials in a convenient and timely manner; and

       1-20           WHEREAS, Brazoria County residents will deeply miss

       1-21     Jackie Eason whose experience and devotion to her duties have

       1-22     been invaluable to the library system throughout her tenure; now,

       1-23     therefore, be it

        2-1           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

        2-2     75th Legislature, hereby commend Jacklynn Eason for her notable

        2-3     achievements over the past 46 years and extend best wishes to her

        2-4     for a most rewarding and enjoyable retirement; and, be it further

        2-5           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

        2-6     Jackie as an expression of the appreciation and high regard of the

        2-7     Texas Senate.
