FISCAL NOTE
75th Regular Session
April 14, 1997
TO: Honorable Hugo Berlanga, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 179, Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
Committee on Public Health By: Maxey
House
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB179 ( Relating
to the employment of a dentist by a nonprofit health organization
that primarily provides services to individuals who have AIDS
or the human immunodeficiency virus.) this office has detemined
the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB179-Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
It is likely that any additional activity associated with this
bill for the State Board of Dental Examiners could be absorbed
within existing resources. No significant additional revenue
generation is likely as the Board does not currently charge
fees to certify charitable organizations to contract with or
employ dentists.
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
