LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session April 14, 1997 TO: Honorable Hugo Berlanga, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 179, Committee Report 1st House, Substituted Committee on Public Health By: Maxey House Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB179 ( Relating to the employment of a dentist by a nonprofit health organization that primarily provides services to individuals who have AIDS or the human immunodeficiency virus.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB179-Committee Report 1st House, Substituted No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. It is likely that any additional activity associated with this bill for the State Board of Dental Examiners could be absorbed within existing resources. No significant additional revenue generation is likely as the Board does not currently charge fees to certify charitable organizations to contract with or employ dentists. The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill.
