LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session May 5, 1997 TO: Honorable J.E. "Buster" Brown, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 473, As Engrossed Committee on Natural Resources By: Howard Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB473 ( Relating to the licensing of waste haulers by certain counties.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB473-As Engrossed No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. This bill would allow a counties with a population under 375,000 to license waste haulers, impose licensing fees, and enforce licensing provisions. Licensing would enable such counties to reduce illegal dumping in unincorporated areas. Because the bill would limit the amount a county collects in licensing fees to the amount needed to fund the licensing program, no significant implication to units of local government is anticipated.
