LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session March 20, 1997 TO: Honorable Warren Chisum, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 473, Committee Report 1st House, Substituted Committee on Environmental Regulation By: Howard House Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB473 ( relating to the licensing of waste haulers by certain counties) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB473-Committee Report 1st House, Substituted No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. This bill would allow a counties with a population under 375,000 to license waste haulers, impose licensing fees, and enforce licensing provisions. Licensing would enable such counties to reduce illegal dumping in unincorporated areas. Because the bill would limit the amount a county collects in licensing fees to the amount needed to fund the licensing program, no significant implication to units of local government is anticipated.
