In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB540 ( Relating 
to educational programs offered to colonia residents by the 
Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.) this office 
has detemined the following:
         
         Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB540-As Engrossed
         
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
         

         
 
          
This bill amends Section 2306.586(c) by adding to the list of 
eligible activities of the department's Self-Help Centers a 
provision for monthly education programs for families on their 
rights and responsibilities as homeowners.  Minimal costs would 
be incurred in developing a curriculum and maintaining educational 
operations. 

No fiscal implication to units of local government 
is anticipated.
