TO: Honorable James E. "Pete" Laney IN RE: House Bill No. 591, As Passed 2nd House
Speaker of the House By: Thompson
          House of Representatives

         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB591 ( Relating
to fees and costs for certain mental health proceedings.) this
office has detemined the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB591-As Passed 2nd House FN Revision 1

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Increased costs to counties could result from provisions of
the bill allowing a fee of up to $50 to be assessed for services
of the presiding judge and the prosecuting attorney. The amount
of the increase would depend upon the number of cases and the
amount of the fee charged.
