LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session March 26, 1997 TO: Honorable Clyde Alexander, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 691, Committee Report 1st House, as amended Committee on Transportation By: Thompson House Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB691 ( Relating to the erection of sound barrier walls along certain parts of Interstate Highway 610 in Houston.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB691-Committee Report 1st House, as amended Implementing the provisions of the bill would result in a net impact of $0 to General Revenue Related Funds through the biennium ending August 31, 1999. Fiscal Analysis The bill, as amended, would remove the requirement that the Transportation Commission establish a statewide Type II Noise Abatement Program. Methodolgy The department estimates the direct cost of constructing the sound barrier walls as required by the bill to be $1,511,190.
