LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session April 24, 1997 TO: Honorable Eddie Lucio, Jr., Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 708, As Engrossed Committee on Intergovernmental Relations By: Hamric Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB708 ( Relating to certain county and public health district fees.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB708-As Engrossed No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. This bill would apply only to a public health district operating within Harris County. Since there is currently no public health district in Harris County, this bill would have no immediate fiscal implication to local governments. However, if enacted, this bill would allow public health districts which are created Harris County in the future to set fees to recover at least 50 percent of annual expenditures by the county or a district for inspection and permitting activities.
