FISCAL NOTE
75th Regular Session
April 24, 1997
TO: Honorable Eddie Lucio, Jr., Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 708, As Engrossed
Committee on Intergovernmental Relations By: Hamric
Senate
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB708 ( Relating
to certain county and public health district fees.) this office
has detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB708-As Engrossed
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would apply only to a public health district operating
within Harris County. Since there is currently no public health
district in Harris County, this bill would have no immediate
fiscal implication to local governments. However, if enacted,
this bill would allow public health districts which are created
Harris County in the future to set fees to recover at least
50 percent of annual expenditures by the county or a district
for inspection and permitting activities.
