In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB817 ( Relating 
to the terms of, and term limits on, the members of certain 
municipal governing bodies.) this office has detemined the following:
         
         Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB817-As Introduced
         
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  
         

         
 
This bill currently applies only to Houston, although it specifies 
the procedures for other municipalities that will attain a population 
of 1.5 million in the future.  No other cities in the state 
are expected to attain that population until at least 2010.

Because 
the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government 
of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required 
by the rules of the House as to its probable fiscal implication 
on units of local government.
