The bill would partially implement Texas Performance Review (TPR) recommendation PSC5 in Disturbing the Peace: The Challenge of Change in Texas Government regarding the elimination of dual supervision of offenders. While the bill would not eliminate dual supervision, it would require TDCJ to use the community supervision tracking system to provide data on the incidence, duration, and geographic distribution of dual supervision cases prior to the next session of the Legislature. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
