                                   FISCAL NOTE
                               75th Regular Session

TO: Honorable Pete Patterson, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 950
Committee on Agriculture & Livestock By: Jones, Delwin
          House
          Austin, Texas

         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB950 ( Relating
to the inactive status of the Texas Soybean Producers Board.)
this office has detemined the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB950-As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would render the Texas Soybean Producers Board inactive
under the Texas Commodity Referendum Law. The bill would end
the Texas Department of Agriculture's oversight of the board
until it was reactivated. Savings would result from reductions
in travel expenses incurred by the department, but those savings
would not be expected to be significant.

Similar annual fiscal implications would continue as long as
the provisions of the bill are in effect.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
