TO: Honorable Fred Hill, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1012
Committee on Urban Affairs By: Counts
House
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1012 ( Relating
to the appointment of an environmental health officer in a home-rule
municipality.) this office has detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1012-As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
A municipality choosing to appoint an environmental health officer,
as provided by this bill, could incur additional costs associated
with the officer's salary, benefits, travel, and other expenses,
if the municipality chose to create a new position for this
office. There would be no significant fiscal implication associated
with designating a current employee as environmental health
officer, unless that employee received a substantial salary
increase as a result of the designation.
