In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1062 ( Relating 
to access to criminal history record information by the Texas 
State Library and Archives Commission.) this office has detemined 
the following:
         
         Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1062-As Introduced
         
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal 
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions 
of the bill.

No significant fiscal implication to the State 
is anticipated.


         
The bill would authorize the State Library and Archives Commission 
to access criminal history record information from the Department 
of Public Safety for employees in or applicants for security-sensitive 
positions.  The bill would take effect on September 1, 1997.
         
 
          
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
