No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would authorize the State Library and Archives Commission to access criminal history record information from the Department of Public Safety for employees in or applicants for security-sensitive positions. The bill would take effect on September 1, 1997. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
