In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1107 ( relating
to the continuation and functions of the State Preservation
Board) this office has detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1107-Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
The bill would continue the
agency for 10 years, setting the date for the next Sunset review
as September 1, 2007. In addition, the bill would allow a member
of the board to designate a representative to act on the board
member's behalf during a board meeting.
The bill would authorize
the agency to develop and construct a state history museum in
the Capitol complex.
METHODOLOGY
The State Preservation
Board is subject to the provisions of the Texas Sunset Act,
and unless continued by the 75th Legislature, will be abolished
September 1, 1997. Funding for the State Preservation Board
is included in the General Appropriations bill, as introduced,
and is contingent upon passage of H.B. 1107 or similar legislation.
The General Appropriations bill, as adopted by the House and
the Senate, would provide $4,920,589 in general revenue funding
and 75.5 employees in each fiscal year of the 1998-99 biennium.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
