LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session February 23, 1997 TO: Honorable David Counts, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1154 Committee on Natural Resources By: Hightower House Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1154 ( Relating to the purchase by the Texas Water Development Board of certain bonds or other obligations issued by a political subdivision.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1154-As Introduced No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would require a political subdivision to hold an open meeting for approval of a financial assistance application to the Water Development Board before the Board could purchase bonds or other obligations of the political subdivision. The bill would have the potential to increase administrative costs for a political subdivision if the political subdivision does not already hold public meetings. The local impact is negligible, however, because most political subdivisions hold meetings in one form or another. Source: Agencies: 580 Water Development Board LBB Staff: JK ,BB ,DM
