          House

         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1229 ( Relating
to application of the professional prosecutors laws to the district
attorney of the 32nd Judicial District.) this office has detemined
the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1229-As Introduced

Implementing the provisions of the bill would result in a net
negative impact of $(64,630) to General Revenue Related Funds
through the biennium ending August 31, 1999.

The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.

The bill would apply the Professional Prosecutors
Act to the district attorney for the 32nd Judicial District.

Fiscal Analysis

The bill would increase the liability to the state by $32,315
annually.

Methodolgy

The liability of the state is increased with the higher salary

act.
