LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session April 29, 1997 TO: Honorable Rodney Ellis, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1312, As Engrossed Committee on Jurisprudence By: Naishtat Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1312 ( Relating to modification of an order for outpatient mental health services and the temporary detention of a patient pending hearing on the modification.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1312-As Engrossed No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. This bill would allow the courts flexibility to have the commitment up to seven days from the order of detention as long as a probable cause hearing is held within 72 hours.
