TO: Honorable Hugo Berlanga, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1312
Committee on Public Health By: Naishtat
House
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1312 ( Relating
to modification of an order for outpatient mental health services
and the temporary detention of a patient pending hearing on
the modification.) this office has detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1312-As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government
is anticipated. This bill would allow the courts flexibility
to have the commitment up to seven days from the order of detention
as long as a probable cause hearing is held within 72 hours.
