LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session May 13, 1997 TO: Honorable Judith Zaffirini, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1516, As Engrossed Committee on Health & Human Services By: Thompson Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1516 ( Relating to the creation of a record keeping system for assisting law enforcement in the location of missing children.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1516-As Engrossed No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. It is projected that the Department of Health and the Department of Public Safety could absorb the additional workload associated with the provisions of this bill within existing resources. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. It is estimated that some costs would be incurred by local registration districts; however, the costs will be distributed among approximately 600 locations. Large metropolitan areas such as Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio would be disproportionately affected. Some local areas which are not automated would have higher costs.
