LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session March 16, 1997 TO: Honorable Senfronia Thompson, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1516 Committee on Judicial Affairs By: Thompson House Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1516 ( Relating to the creation of a record keeping system for assisting law enforcement in the location of missing children.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1516-As Introduced No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. It is projected that the Department of Health and the Department of Public Safety could absorb the additional workload associated with the provisions of this bill within existing resources. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. It is estimated that some costs would be incurred by local registration districts; however, the costs will be distributed among approximately 600 locations. Large metropolitan areas such as Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio would be disproportionately affected. Some local areas which are not automated would have higher costs.
