In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1553 ( relating
to court costs assessed for certain offenses to provide funding
for child safety programs.) this office has detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1553-As Passed 2nd House
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government
is anticipated.
A municipality that chooses to raise court
costs on violations affected by the bill could increase revenues
dedicated to child safety programs.
