In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1637 ( Relating
to increased penalties for fraudulent or other unlawful acts
committed under the state Medicaid program that result in injury
to a child.) this office has detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1637-As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill provides for additional civil penalties which would
be collected by the Sanctions Unit at the Health and Human Services
Commission. These additional penalties could create some additional
revenue.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
