         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1710 ( Relating
to the appointment of bailiffs for the district courts in Tarrant
County that give preference to criminal cases.) this office
has detemined the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1710-As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require district courts with preference for criminal
cases in Tarrant County to hire two bailiffs and one grand jury
bailiff. County officials estimate the fiscal impact to Tarrant
County to be between $46,000 to $114,000 annually, depending
on the salary ranges that were selected.
