LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session March 18, 1997 TO: Honorable Fred Hill, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1764 Committee on Urban Affairs By: Jackson House Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1764 ( Relating to allowing municipalities to purchase goods for retail sale without following competitive bidding procedures.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1764-As Introduced No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. This bill would allow municipalities to purchase goods for subsequent retail sale without following competitive bidding procedures. Municipalities could realize positive fiscal implications equal to the publishing and administrative costs associated with competitive bidding procedures for such items. However, since it is expected that municipalities would purchase relatively few items for retail sale, no significant fiscal implication is anticipated. Source: Agencies: LBB Staff: JK ,TL
