LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session May 16, 1997 TO: Honorable Bill Ratliff, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1820, As Engrossed Committee on Finance By: Solis Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1820 ( relating to the tuition charged to certain foreign students with financial need at certain components of the Texas State Technical College System and at Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1820-As Engrossed No significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated. The bill would exempt certain students from Mexico who attend Texas State Technical College -Harlingen and Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi. There are currently nine students from Mexico who attend TSTC-Harlingen and three from Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi. Although this number is expected to increase, the fiscal impact to the state would not be significant. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
