TO: Honorable Clyde Alexander, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1871, Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
Committee on Transportation By: Pitts
House
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1871 ( Relating
to the movement of portable building units and compatible cargo
over a state highway.) this office has detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1871-Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would allow cargo compatible with portable building
units to be transported under a permit issued for the portable
building unit. Currently, a general single-trip permit is required
to transport compatible cargo, in addition to the portable building
permit. The Texas Department of Transportation would collect
an amount equal to any fee that would apply to the cargo's movement
in a manner not governed under the bill's provisions.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
