TO: Honorable Hugo Berlanga, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1933

          House
          Austin, Texas

         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB1933 ( Relating
to certain retired physicians who perform voluntary charity
care.) this office has detemined the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB1933-As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Medical Practice Act by requiring retired
physicians to participate in continuing medical education if
the physician is engaged in voluntary, charitable care. The
number of physicians impacted is negligible and costs associated
with the bill can be absorbed by the existing resources and
appropriations of the Board of Medical Examiners.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
