LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session March 31, 1997 TO: Honorable Patricia Gray, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2037 Committee on Civil Practices By: Lewis, Ron House Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2037 ( Relating to discontinuing boat and outboard motor franchise agreements.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2037-As Introduced No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would allow boat dealers to protest a manufacturer's or distributor's decision to not continue a franchise agreement. This action would be infrequent, and the protest fee of $250 would partially offset the portion of the costs incurred by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to engage an arbitrator to settle the protest. Therefore, the fiscal impact to the agency is negligible. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Source: Agencies: 802 Parks and Wildlife Department LBB Staff: JK ,PE ,DM
