LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session April 24, 1997 TO: Honorable Eddie Lucio, Jr., Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2083, As Engrossed Committee on Intergovernmental Relations By: Hilderbran Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2083 ( Relating to county auditors who serve more than one county.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2083-As Engrossed No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. This bill would allow would extend provisions currently in effect for counties with populations of less than 25,000 to jointly employ the same county auditor for two or more counties to all counties except Harris County. This bill could result in a savings to counties which choose to share a county auditor with another county auditor. Burnet and Llano Counties currently employ the same county auditor. Burnet County estimates that this arrangement saves the county approximately $5,900 per year and Llano County estimates annual savings of approximately $2,600. Source: Agencies: LBB Staff: JK ,TL
