LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session May 15, 1997 TO: Honorable Judith Zaffirini, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2099, As Engrossed Committee on Health & Human Services By: Uher Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2099 ( Relating to student loan reimbursement for physician assistants practicing in certain areas.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2099-As Engrossed No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill amends the Physician Assistant Licensing Act to allow physician assistants who were educated out-of-state to participate in the student loan reimbursement program. It is anticipated that the number of physician assistants impacted would be minimal and that costs can be absorbed by the Board of Medical Examiners and the Texas Department of Health.
