Senate
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2141 ( Relating
to the seizure and sale of certain property by certain municipalities.)
this office has detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2141-As Engrossed
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would allow a municipality to seize and sell certain
properties which contain demolished structures and on which
ad valorem taxes are delinquent. The bill would allow a municipality
to recover costs associated with demolition and, in cases where
the value of such the land exceeds the cost of demolition, a
municipality could experience increased revenues.
