LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session May 6, 1997 TO: Honorable Eddie Lucio, Jr., Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2141, As Engrossed Committee on Intergovernmental Relations By: Keel,Terry Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2141 ( Relating to the seizure and sale of certain property by certain municipalities.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2141-As Engrossed No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. This bill would allow a municipality to seize and sell certain properties which contain demolished structures and on which ad valorem taxes are delinquent. The bill would allow a municipality to recover costs associated with demolition and, in cases where the value of such the land exceeds the cost of demolition, a municipality could experience increased revenues.
