House
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2319 ( Relating
to laws regulating the distribution and dispensation of controlled
substances and to the enforcement of those laws.) this office
has detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2319-Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill. The bill would require the Department of Public
Safety to issue prescription stickers to practitioners, rather
than the triplicate prescription forms that are now provided.
The bill would allow the department to charge a fee to cover
costs associated with producing these stickers.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
