LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session April 29, 1997 TO: Honorable Kenneth Armbrister, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2353, As Engrossed Committee on State Affairs By: Finnell Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2353 ( Relating to rural rail transportation districts.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2353-As Engrossed No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would allow elected officers of the state or political subdivisions who are not prohibited by the Texas Constitution, to serve on the board of directors for rural rail transportation districts. The bill would require newly created rural rail transportation districts to notify the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) of the creation of the district. The bill would require the TTI to make available to the district a guide of the services and information that TTI provides. TTI estimates that there would be a cost to general revenue of $10,000 to develop the required information. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
