FISCAL NOTE
75th Regular Session
April 29, 1997
TO: Honorable Kenneth Armbrister, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2353, As Engrossed
Committee on State Affairs By: Finnell
Senate
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2353 ( Relating
to rural rail transportation districts.) this office has detemined
the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2353-As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would allow elected officers of the state or political
subdivisions who are not prohibited by the Texas Constitution,
to serve on the board of directors for rural rail transportation
districts. The bill would require newly created rural rail
transportation districts to notify the Texas Transportation
Institute (TTI) of the creation of the district. The bill would
require the TTI to make available to the district a guide of
the services and information that TTI provides. TTI estimates
that there would be a cost to general revenue of $10,000 to
develop the required information.
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government
is anticipated.
