LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session May 15, 1997 TO: Honorable Judith Zaffirini, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2385, As Engrossed Committee on Health & Human Services By: Delisi Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2385 ( Relating to the creation of the Health and Human Services Policy Council.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2385-As Engrossed The bill would create a new state agency called the Health and Human Services Policy Council. The cost to the state would depend on the staff required to administer the council's responsibilities and on the amount of grants and donations received by the council. Fiscal Analysis This bill would create a new state agency called the Health and Human Services Policy Council (council) to research and analyze health and human service issues. The executive director would be authorized to employ staff necessary to administer the council's responsibilities. The council could accept grants and donations in addition to legislative appropriations. Methodology The cost to the state would depend on the staff required to administer the council's responsibilities and on the amount of grants and donations received by the council.
