LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session May 13, 1997 TO: Honorable Judith Zaffirini, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2389, As Engrossed Committee on Health & Human Services By: Maxey Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2389 ( Relating to the sale of laboratory services to certain persons by the Texas Department of Health.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2389-As Engrossed In the event that the Board of Health were to adopt fees as reasonable and necessary to cover the costs of delivering the laboratory services described in this bill, then there would be no significant fiscal implication to the State. Charges collected by the Department of Health would be deposited to the credit of the Department of Health Public Services Fee GR-Account 0524 (account). The bill would exempt the account from Section 403.095(b) of the Government Code, concerning the use for general governmental purposes of dedicated revenue collections which exceed the amount appropriated.
