FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2508 ( Relating
to a study and a pilot project related to the use of finger-imaging
in the electronic benefits transfer program.) this office has
detemined the following:
Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2508-As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
The bill would have no impact on general revenue
funds as the bill stipulates that the Department of Human Services
shall implement the pilot project using only private and federal
funds, and at no cost to retailers who participate in the project.
The department has not determined what funding source would
be utilized.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
