In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2555 ( Relating 
to the creation of two county criminal courts in Denton County.) 
this office has detemined the following:
         
         Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2555-As Introduced
         
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
         

         
 
          
The bill would create two additional county criminal courts 
in Denton County.  County Criminal Court No. 3 would be created 
September 1, 1997 and County Criminal Court No. 4 would be created 
September 1, 1998.  Denton County officials estimate the county 
would have additional revenue of $250,000 and expenditures of 
$770,950 for a net cost of $520,950 in fiscal year 1998.  For 
fiscal year 1999, it is expected that Denton County would have 
additional revenue of $500,000 and expenditures of $1,414,666 
for a net cost of $914,666.  Thereafter, it is expected the 
county will have additional revenue of $500,000 and expenditures 
of $1,294,432 for a net cost of $794,432 annually.
