TO: Honorable Eddie Lucio, Jr., Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2622, As Engrossed
Committee on Intergovernmental Relations By: Heflin
          Senate
          Austin, Texas

         FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2622 ( Relating
to liability for postjudgment taxes, penalties, and interest
in a suit to collect a delinquent ad valorem tax.) this office
has detemined the following:

Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2622-As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill adds additional items for inclusion in a petition by
a taxing unit initiating a suit to collect delinquent property
taxes.

To the extent that local taxing units are currently not recovering
taxes, penalties, and interest that accrue after a judgment
ordering foreclosure of a tax lien, there would be a gain to
local governments.
