In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2697 ( Relating 
to the salary from the state of a district judge who serves 
as a local administrative district judge.) this office has detemined 
the following:
         
         Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2697-As Introduced
         
Implementing the provisions of the bill would result in a net 
negative impact of $(2,540,000) to General Revenue Related Funds 
through the biennium ending August 31, 1999.
         
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal 
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions 
of the bill.

The bill would provide for a salary supplement 
of $5,000 to all local administrative district judges in Texas.
         
 
Fiscal Analysis
 
The bill would establish a $5,000 annual supplement for all 
local administrative district judges.
 
Methodolgy
 
$5,000 X 254 = $1,270,000
The probable fiscal implications of implementing the provisions 
of the bill during each of the first five years following passage 
is estimated as follows:
