LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session May 31, 1997 TO: Honorable Bob Bullock Honorable James E. "Pete" Laney Lieutenant Governor Speaker of the House Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2837 ( Relating to certain filing fees and salaries of judges in the statutory county courts of certain counties.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2837-Conference Committee Report No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would only become law if S.B. 310, 75th Legislature, Regular Session, 1997 is enacted and becomes law. It is expected that increased costs to counties could result from provisions of the bill that would increase the salary of certain statutory county court judges by $4,000 annually. However, the $10 increase in filing fees for civil cases would be expected to offset most of the cost increases. Source: Agencies: LBB Staff: JK ,BB ,DC
