LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 75th Regular Session April 25, 1997 TO: Honorable Senfronia Thompson, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2837 Committee on Judicial Affairs By: Thompson House Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on HB2837 ( Relating to the imposition and collection of additional court costs in certain counties and to the salaries of certain statutory county court judges.) this office has detemined the following: Biennial Net Impact to General Revenue Funds by HB2837-As Introduced The bill would delete the court costs and fees collected under Section 51.702 of the Government Code that are deposited to the Judicial Fund and remitted to the county's general fund. The bill would be a revenue loss to the 59 counties who participate in collecting the fees under Sec. 51.702 of the Government Code and who receive a corresponding state contribution.
